As part of the building refurbishment, Apex integrated new enhanced specification glazing to improve the thermal performance of the building. This resulted in an estimated annual energy savings of 545k kWh per annum- equivalent to planting 5,600 trees each year.
In order to align with L&G's goal to be Net Zero Carbon throughout its portfolio, the building has had a Net Zero Carbon report undertaken to consider the emissions and risk to achieving this goal. This will enable us to work with our occupiers to recognize and implement the required services and systems.
The Vizta portal acts as a one-stop-shop for occupiers to assess real-time building data in relation to their office space. This will include energy usage, indoor air quality, finance and other sustainability data.
Through our continued improvement works to the building and various office suites, we maintain our trajectory to achieve a higher EPC rating for the building. EPC A ratings have been achieved on all recently refurbished suites.
All of our energy provided in the building has been sourced by 100% renewable energy.
Apex is a regenerated office building from the 1980s. You can feel good that your choice of home has delivered huge savings of embodied carbon.
The use of building technology at Apex allows you to see how much gas, water and electricity your business is using. This will enable you to identify and implement efficiencies to save energy and money.
IEQ sensors monitor temperature, air quality and humidity. Their live performance is visible through our monitoring system, Demand Logic. This data enables us to have a greater understanding of how the comfort level and energy efficiency of the building can be improved. The real-time data is displayed in our Vizta occupier portal.
Apex has a Platinum rating on air quality, but are always looking into ways to improve. Providing tenants with an advanced air-conditioning system combining all forms of cooling, heating, heat recovery and ventilation.
Automatic Meter Reading devices enable occupiers to really understand their day to day energy usage. This will create opportunities to consider enhancement in lighting solutions or space utilisation to bring down energy levels.
